Abstract
This case discusses the pharmacokinetic interaction between amitriptyline and goldenseal, leading to tricyclic antidepressant toxicity. Amitriptyline is a cytochrome P450 3A4 and cytochrome P450 2D6 substrate and goldenseal is a 3A4 and 2D6 inhibitor.
