Abstract
The increased recognition of the importance of mental health, behavioral health, and substance use in primary care creates opportunities for helping better achieve a more efficient and effective health care system. Redesigning primary care through the Patient-Centered Medical Home has opened up new avenues for health care policy discussion; however, what remains unclear is the role behavioral health will play in this significant redesign.
