Abstract
Injuries are a significant cause of death and disability in low- and middle-income countries due to a rapid increase in motorization, coupled with less developed systems of prevention and care. The health burden of nontraumatic musculoskeletal conditions is growing due to an aging population and the epidemiologic transition toward noncommunicable diseases.
