Abstract
The implementation of hybrid imaging with SPECT/CT introduces new technological and physical challenges for imaging professionals and patients. Additional consideration needs to be given to technical difficulties which may arise, if not anticipated, in order to optimize image quality and patient radiation dose. This chapter discusses potential imaging pitfalls and offers practical solutions to avoid problems occurring or salvage imaging procedures in difficult circumstances. There are also tips on patient and equipment management and some ethical considerations. The section concludes with some examples of clinical technical factors.
