Bronchial Artery Interventions in Children

Abstract

Hemoptysis, defined as the expectoration of blood or bloody sputum, is rare in children. It must be differentiated from mimics such as gastrointestinal bleeding and nosebleeds. While there are many etiologies for pulmonary hemorrhage, cystic fibrosis (CF) is the most common cause of severe hemoptysis in the western hemisphere and developed countries.
