Abstract
Customer relations refers to technical support, training, application assistance, and troubleshooting. Customers in the imaging ecosystem include radiologists, clinicians, technologists, hospital IT staff, hospital personnel, vendors, and patients. Much of the IIP’s customer relation tasks will consist of keeping track of ongoing and recurring issues and creating documentation and educational materials. Tools to help the customer relations or support include documentation systems, ticket tracking, and proactive system monitoring. In addition to the technical skills to manage complex PACS and other imaging informatics systems, it is important to be able to perform business-related functions such as writing reports and business correspondence, creating procedure manuals, and presenting complex information and data to others. In general, customer relations or customer support might be the single point of contact for many customers, and their experience will set their opinion of the system.
