Abstract

The radiology report is the radiologist’s primary work product. While radiology reports have traditionally been in prose format, there have been increasing efforts toward using structured reporting and lexicons to promote greater standardization with the overall goal of improving radiologists’ value through enhanced communications. Radiology was one of the early adopters of speech recognition technology in medicine. With technology advancements and AI, reporting solutions are becoming more intelligent to enhance the workflow of the radiologists and their work product.
