A solvable model for high-energy scattering

Summary

A Hamiltonian model is introduced to describe high-energy scattering and production. An approximation of the eikonal type is used to deal with the kinematic term of the colliding particles, and, within this approximation, the scattering problem is solved exactly. Unitarity is satisfied both for the elastic and the inelastic amplitudes. A comparison of the prediction of the model with some experimental data for p-p scattering is presented.
