Summary
Digital laser speckle photography, an advanced technique of quantitative flow structure evaluation, has been applied for quantitative density field monitoring in transonic flow in the Shock Tunnel of the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery, Gdan’sk. Measurements of density distributions in the boundary layer of shock wave interacting with wall vortices as well as surface pressure were taken. Sub-pixel resolution software for the deflection angles of probing laser light evaluation using speckle technology is described and examples of flow fields are given.
