Zusammenfassung

Das akute Leberversagen ist gekennzeichnet durch eine plötzliche Verschlechterung der Leberfunktion. Dies äußert sich in den allermeisten Fällen durch einen Anstieg der International Normalized Ratio (INR) und eine hepatische Enzephalopathie. Diese Übersichtsarbeit beleuchtet praxisnah die Ätiologie des akuten Leberversagens, die Interpretation wichtiger klinischer und laborchemischer Parameter, die medikamentösen Therapiemöglichkeiten sowie die Entscheidungsfindung zur Transplantation.
