Jean-Claude Merlin (1954– ), a technician in process computing in Le Creusot, France, has been observing comets and asteroids for more than 30 years. He wrote many papers for astronomical magazines and several books about minor planets. He is the founder-president of the Société Astronomique de Bourgogne. (M 51190) Nilrem changes to “Merlin” spelled backwards.
