Zusammenfassung
Seit Jahren schon findet sowohl in der Wissenschaft wie auch in der Wirtschaft ein breiter Diskurs zum Thema Diversity Management und dessen potenziellem Nutzen statt. So wurden, verbunden mit der Hoffnung auf einen steigenden Unternehmenserfolg, in vielen Unternehmen Diversity-Programme konzipiert und umgesetzt. Ob Diversity Management tatsächlich eine werttreibende Investition darstellt, ist die Kernfrage vieler wissenschaftlicher Studien aus unterschiedlichsten Fachrichtungen, angefangen von Personalmanagement und Organisationspsychologie über empirische Wirtschaftssoziologie und Arbeitsmarktforschung bis hin zu den Finanzwissenschaften und angewandter Statistik. Deren Ergebnisse sind, wie dieser Beitrag zeigt, allerdings uneinheitlich. Der ökonomische Nutzen von Diversity Management kann bis dato somit nicht empirisch belastbar bejaht werden.
