Zusammenfassung

Um das Zusammenwirken von Genen und Umwelt und deren Zusammenhänge mit Gesundheit zu systematisieren, führen wir kurz in die Logik einschlägiger Studiendesigns ein, geben einen Überblick über Erblichkeitsschätzungen von Krankheiten und zwischen Genen und Gesundheit vermittelnde Mechanismen. Der Hauptteil des Kapitels widmet sich verschiedenen Varianten, in denen Anlage- und Umwelt-Einflüsse interagieren können. Wir schließen mit einigen aktuellen Entwicklungen, Sorgen und Potenzialen, die mit den interaktiven Einflüssen von Genen und Umwelt auf unsere Gesundheit verbunden sind.
