Supernumerary Marker Chromosome

Rare (∼3 × 10−4) abnormal chromosomes with internal duplications and deletions. The majority (∼60%) involves two inverted copies of the short arm, centromere and the proximal segment of the long arm of human chromosome 15 (SMC[15]). The majority of the latter are dicentric but one of the centromeres is inactive (pseudocentromeric 15). chromosomal rearrangements; Roberts SE et al 2003 Am J Hum Genet 73:1061.
