Weber number

The Weber number (We) is a dimensionless parameter that represents the ratio of the inertia forces to the surface tension forces. For water in open channels the Weber number is given by the expression:
where ρ is the density of the liquid, 2 is the squared value of the mean velocity of the liquid, is the mean depth of the cross-section and σ is the surface tension of the liquied.
