Environment, Development and Sustainability
NEWS! 2009 Unofficial Five-Year Impact Factor*: 0.954 As of April 1, 2010 Environment, Development and Sustainability undertakes double-blind peer review (where both author and reviewer are anonymous), as opposed to its previous single-blind peer review. In order to carry out double-blind review, the article submissions must be adapted for this type of review process. Authors are therefore requested to place their names and affiliations on a separate page. Self-identifying citations and references in the article text should either be avoided or left blank when manuscripts are first submitted. Authors are responsible for reinserting self-identifying citations and references when manuscripts are prepared for final submission. Environment, Development and Sustainability is an international, multidisciplinary journal covering all aspects of the environmental impacts of socio-economic development. Concerned with the complex interactions between development and environment, its purpose is to seek ways and means for achieving sustainability in all human activities aimed at such development. Coverage includes interactions among society, development and environment, and their implications for sustainable development; technical, economic, ethical and philosophical aspects of sustainable development; local, regional and global sustainability and their practical implementation; development and application of indicators of sustainability; development, verification, implementation and monitoring of policies for sustainable development; sustainable use of land, water, energy and biological resources in development; impacts of agriculture and forestry activities on soil and aquatic ecosystems and biodiversity, and much more. * Unofficial Impact Factors: For journals that have not been tracked for long enough to have an Impact Factor, or are not yet tracked by Thomson Reuters(ISI), it is nonetheless possible to calculate a unofficial Impact Factor, which we have done for this journal. The unofficial 2009 Five-Year Impact Factor was established by taking the number of times articles published in 2004 - 2008 were cited in 2009 (based on a search of the Science Citation Index database), and dividing by the number of articles published in 2004-2008.
