Coverage emphasizes accounts of experimental studies of chromosome organization, function and behavior. The journal also publishes studies in genomics, both functional and comparative, and studies in which karyology has helped to resolve taxonomic problems or provide clues to fundamental mechanisms of genome and karyotype evolution.
