Abstract

The unsteady free convection flow of an incompressible viscous fluid over an infinite vertical plate, under prescribed forms of the surface shear and heat flux, is numerically studied. The governing partial differential equations are transformed in a non-dimensional system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations, whose solutions are obtained by means of the Bulirsch-Stoer method. The influence of pertinent parameters on the dimensionless velocity and temperature fields is graphically underlined. The friction parameter γ and the heat flux coefficient q have a meaningful influence especially on the velocity.
