Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the two coupled higher order inhomogeneous nonlinear Schrödinger equation using gauge transformation approach and generate femtosecond soliton solutions for the two modes. We then show how the intensities of the solitons can redistribute among the modes leading to fascinating shape changing collision of femtosecond solitons. We also observe that the above integrable model is endowed with a rare freedom which offers the possibility of injecting electromagnetic energy into the pulses through fibre parameters facilitating femtosecond soliton management.
