Abstract

We study the nonlinear response of a certain parametrically driven bistable oscillator that is subjected to two external periodic drives of widely different frequencies. We observe prominent resonant response, both analytically and numerically, when the effective frequency of the system is tuned close to the frequency of the slow drive, the tuning parameter being solely the strength of the high frequency drive.
