Abstract.
Recent development of intermittency in the Ising model is reviewed. By means of various realization, the classical spin model is adopted to study the particle number fluctuations and the intermittent behavior. The analytical expressions in one dimension are obtained, both for the models with and without an external field. The onset of intermittency in the Ising model is more likely a characteristic of decoupling into one-dimensional subsystems.
