Summary
Epidermal cysts are retention cysts of the skin covered with a keratinized squamous epithelium. These cysts are among the most common benign subcutaneous tumors and usually they present as a small skin lesion. We present a patient with a large epidermal cyst with extension into the ischiorectal fossa.

Epidermale Zysten sind Retentionszysten der Haut, die mit keratinisiertem schuppigen Epithel bedeckt sind. Diese Zysten gehören zu den häufigsten benignen subkutanen Tumoren und präsentieren sich normalerweise als kleine Hautläsionen. Wir schildern einen Fall einer großen epidermalen Zyste mit Ausdehnung in die Fossa ischiorectalis.
