Abstract
In this chapter, the feasibility of a physical realization of complex sources is investigated, since the question of the physical existence of such sources is inevitable. An array of loudspeakers is used to reproduce the radiation patterns of complex multipoles. To determine the appropriate amplitude and phase of each loudspeaker, a numerical procedure is developed and its range of application is investigated. Simulated and exact radiation patterns are compared and good agreement is observed.
