Abstract

Presently, fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) of soft tissue lesions is a reliable and safe technique. It is because FNAC can provide accurate diagnosis and prognostic assessment with the support of multiple additional tests such as immunocytochemistry, polymerase chain reaction and next-generation sequencing. FNAC is a quick and safe procedure and can avoid unnecessary surgical intervention in many soft tissue lesions. This chapter discusses the FNAC, immunocytochemistry and differential diagnosis of the various soft tissue lesions.
