Abstract

The article describes the peculiarities of interaction between the railway subgrade and the perennial soils of the supporting subsoil in the subarctic part of cryolithozone. We show the reasons for the degradation of permafrost soils in the subsoil and the mechanism of subgrade deformations, according to which the main principles of subgrade design in these conditions are proposed.
