Abstract
This opportunity to discuss the response to a burn disaster which occurred in an elementary school in one of the major cities of the United States is deeply appreciated. I agree with Prof. Ungeheuer in regards to his definition of disaster, and the situation to be discussed meets his definition by all criteria. It exceeded the ability of those responsible to handle the patients and the situation surrounding the accident in a normal manner.
