Definition
A solid cystic cutaneous nodule arising from the duct and secretory coil of eccrine sweat glands.
Etiology
Clear cell hidradenomas may be due to impaired drainage of eccrine sweat glands within the dermis.
Clinical Presentation
Flesh colored, solid or cystic intradermal nodules, typically 5–30 mm, covered by intact skin. Pressure applied to the lesion may produce tenderness in 20% of patients. They present in middle age and frequently occur on the head, but can occur anywhere on the body (Shields and Shields 1999; Albert and Jakobie 2008; Rabady et al. 2008).
Diagnostics
