Abstract

For early gastric cardiac carcinoma at the pT1 stage, endoscopic resection, especially endoscopic submucosal dissection, is a preferred procedure for cases with no or minimal risk of nodal metastasis. Careful preparation and execution of endoscopic therapy may secure a successful resection. Post-resection complications such as perforation, delayed bleeding, and stenosis should be treated immediately and appropriately. All patients need to be placed on endoscopic surveillance for monitoring tumor recurrence and complications.
