Abstract
Evolution has created a human species that is liable to jump to conclusions and to react before they think. Unless we are aware of our natural impulses we will always choose for a short term instead if a long term, a limited scope definition instead of the whole picture, and dream away in phantasies instead of facing an unpleasant reality. Systems thinking is a powerful tool for addressing these dilemmas. The archetypes developed offer us sharp insights into the way we unintentionally create patterns that keep bringing us back into the problems we trying to solve and how to deal with them.
