Arthroscopic Repair of Partial-Thickness Articular Sided Rotator Cuff Tendon Tears

Abstract

Successful treatment of partial-thickness rotator cuff tears is possible without completing the tear and requires the surgeon be facile in arthroscopic repair and willing to supervise postoperative rehabilitation to maximize healing and ensure adequate motion, function, and patient satisfaction. This case highlights steps to repair a partial-thickness rotator cuff tear of the shoulder to maximize healing so that pain can be diminished and function restored. Surgical aids of managing the sutures and placing them for the best repair are included as well as tips for postoperative rehabilitation and return to work and sports.
