Breast Development: Aspects of Doppler Ductal Ultrasonography of the Normal Breast

Abstract

The development of the breast and the normal typical morphological-physiological breast aspects are presented from the point of view of the DE; the breast anatomy is the key of image interpretation, and the same principle is useful in the analysis of the young-type, adult-type, menopausal, or lactating breast. The classical descriptors of the breast US such as “breast tissue” and “fibroglandular tissue” are not anatomical and vague and are substituted with the more specific findings of the DE.
