Abstract

Lymphoepithelial carcinoma affects children and adults and presents at a mean age of approximately 55 years. Women and men are involved with similar frequency. The majority of cases involve the parotid gland, presenting as single or multiple masses. Most cases of lymphoepithelial carcinoma behave as intermediate- to high-grade malignancies. Lymphoepithelial carcinoma may be well-circumscribed or infiltrative, comprised of multiple cell types (epithelial and lymphoid), and exhibit a variety of architectural patterns (nests, cords, and sheets) (Figs. 16.1, 16.2, 16.3, 16.4, 16.5, 16.6, 16.7, 16.8, 16.9, 16.10, 16.11, 16.12, 16.13, 16.14, 16.15, 16.16 and 16.17).
