Abstract
This book is based on prevailing evidence as observed through selected case studies in the country. It is also supported by a rich source of secondary data which depicts the nature of inequality prevailing in the country. In this regard, this chapter provides insight into the research techniques that were undertaken in order to collect data to inform this book. It discusses key research methodological considerations that were used during research design, data collection and data analysis in a bid to give an authentic and objective picture of the nature of inequality prevailing in the country. In this regard, it details out how case studies used in this book were selected and the research tools that were used to collect data during fieldwork are also discussed in detail. But also critical in this chapter is the outline of some of the limitations that prevail in the field and how they impinge negatively on data collection which in turn distorts analysts’ view of service delivery and inequality in the country.
