Abstract
Criminological and cultural discourses concerning LGBT persons as criminals are traced from the 1880s through the 1980s, when “gay criminal” gave way to the “gay victim.” The contemporary absence of LGBT persons from criminology, except as victims, is addressed through several studies that determine LGBT and heterosexual offenders differ.
