Abstract
Generally, I believe that Georg Rasch would have been very pleased with the book — even proud to see the amount of scientific work on a high academic level which has been carried out concerning the Rasch model (RM) over the last 15 years. He would, at the same time, have been surprised by many developments and have looked in vain for a discussion of some issues which he would have thought to be natural and necessary to take up; he would finally be critical about many results and many approaches. All these opinions are for obvious reasons only qualified guesses on my part, and opinions that are entirely my own, i.e., I have not discussed them with other researchers or the editors of this book.
