Although only a 20–30% CO2 increase actually did occur over the past century, a logarithmic extrapolation to a 100% CO2 increase (i.e., a doubling) yielded the 1–2 °C equivalent CO2 doubling surface temperature response that Gilliland and I found semi-empirically.
