Abstract
The Flexner Report began a process in North America linking science with physician education and practice. While the report emphasized the importance of standards of clinical training and care and the role of the laboratory in physician education, this chapter deals with the explosion of knowledge that pervades decision-making in all medical disciplines, especially those bridging women’s health care.
