Riassunto

L’ipertensione è una patologia che in genere non costringe a rimandare l’intervento per riequilibrare al meglio i valori pressori prima dello stesso, a meno che non raggiunga valori particolarmente elevati. Tuttavia l’iperteso è un paziente fragile e particolarmente predisposto sia all’ipotensione che all’ipertensione perioperatoria e agli eventi avversi che ne conseguono. Pertanto è di fondamentale importanza conoscere bene la fisiopatologia dell’ipertensione perché da questa conoscenza nascono le scelte corrette di trattamento, le strategie gestionali atte a prevenire, tempestivamente diagnosticare e altrettanto tempestivamente trattare gli eventi avversi.
