Abstract

Impaired motor function affects daily activities in different ways and degrees. For example, dysfunction of the leg causes problems with walking. We here outline the rehabilitation program for disabled people with specific motor system dysfunctions. During the rehabilitation process, it is necessary to pay attention to the part of the body that is functionally impaired as well as to the rest of the body; activities of daily living must also be considered. Various technologies that are being developed in the new field of cybernics can contribute to the rehabilitation of disabled people. In particular, the Hybrid Assistive Limb can improve the walking ability of disabled people with motor dysfunction of the leg.
