Zusammenfassung

Seit 1980 hat sich das Parteiensystem der Bundesrepublik Deutschland zweimal durch den Eintritt einer neuen Partei geändert. 1980 zogen wie in den 20 Jahren vorher zum letzten Mal nur drei Parteien in den Bundestag ein: die CDU/CSU, als Fraktionsgemeinschaft im Bundestag als eine Partei gezählt, SPD und FDP. 1983 überwanden die Grünen die 5 %-Hürde, an der sie 1980 noch gescheitert waren, und blieben seither kontinuierlich im Bundestag vertreten, wenn man von ihrem Missgeschick 1990 im alten Bundesgebiet absieht.

Melvin J. Hinich zum Gedenken. Er führte uns in Mannheim in die Anwendung räumlicher Modelle auf das Wählerverhalten ein. Meine früheren Mitarbeiter und ich sind ihm dafür zu Dank verpflichtet.
