Abstract

relative time period: Overlaps with the Highland Andean Formative tradition and precedes the Andean Regional Development Period. In the chronological framework used by most Andean archaeologists, the Chavín tradition coresponds to the Early Horizon, which follows the Initial Period and preceds the Early Intermediate Period.
