Abstract
Early theorists in the science of aerodynamics separate nicely into those who were heading for the sky and those who were intent on reaching outer space. The group that was intent on the moving through the sky can trace its origins back to a Greek philosopher and mathematician named Archytas. Their goal of attaining manned flight occurred with Wilbur and Orville Wright’s success in 1903. The group intent on space can trace its origins back to the Chinese and their fire-rockets. They realized the possibility of space flight with the advent of Robert Goddard’s rockets.
