Abstract
The combination of advanced medical imaging and musculoskeletal modelling presented here provides us with a unique set of tools to investigate the complex form and function of the PF joint. In particular, the ability to estimate patient-specific stresses throughout various tissues of the PF joint enables us to test the fundamental hypothesis that the onset and development of PF pain has an underlying mechanical aetiology.
