Summary
In this chapter you learned about AOP and how it can simplify and reduce the non-functional aspects from obscuring into the business logic of your applications. Although a simple introduction, I showed two uses of AOP that allow you to apply in a non-intrusive way systemwide policies to the system. AOP can also be used to solve functional or business requirements, and as you work more with an AOP framework you’ll start finding new ways to apply this powerful technology to your applications.
In the second half of the chapter we explored the world of RSS feeds in Java by using the Informa library to add author feeds to the TechConf website. RSS feeds are a common feature of many of today’s successful websites, and Informa provides a flexible solution to handle the multitude of available formats.
