Abstract
The petrous apex is the most anterior and medial portion of the temporal bone, and rarely contains lesions. Imaging techniques in general, and MRI more specifically, are of great help to detect such lesions, and to differentiate them, in order to decide to leave them alone or to choose for therapeutic action.
