A collection of manuscripts describing the X-ray telescopes onboard the EP (Einstein Probe) satellite, supported by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The EP's scientific purpose is to discover and characterize the faint, distant and rare X-ray transients and even new types that are beyond the reach of the current observing capability. The special issue focuses on design, performance, simulation and pre-flight calibration of the X-ray instruments onboard the EP satellite.
