Proceedings from the 2023 International Conference on Subarachnoid Hemorrhage

Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) is a devastating stroke subtype that disproportionally affects younger adults, has high rates of mortality, and leads to long-term cognitive and functional deficits in survivors. Clinicians and researchers gathered during the 2023 International Conference on Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (ISAH) to discuss recent advances in basic science and clinical trials, as well as to prioritize the areas of most importance when it comes to treatment of aneurysms and subarachnoid hemorrhage. Prevention of subarachnoid hemorrhage focuses on aneurysm development, identifying aneurysms at-risk for rupture, and risk factors contributing to rupture. Treatment of subarachnoid hemorrhage can target various pathophysiological events during early brain injury (1-3 days post-SAH) or delayed cerebral ischemia (4-14 days post-SAH). In this Special Edition, we are eliciting papers from the conference speakers. We welcome the submission of Reviews, Commentaries/Perspectives, and Emergent Work related to the themes of ISAH.
