Multimedia information processing and security is an important field of computer science and engineering, that has attracted the interest of the researchers and scientists over the years. But in the recent years the proliferation of the digital devices in our day to day use has resulted in creation of large amount of multimedia information at an exponential rate. At a time when everything has been digitized and when multifaceted information is being transmitted by different media sources (sound, text, video, etc.), it has become essential to develop methods that enable qualifying the reliability of automated information processing systems. Therefore, it demands the generation of methods that enable for efficient processing and securing of the multimedia information thus generated. The aim of the special issue is to bring forth the latest advancements in the domain of multimedia information processing and the methods to secure the generated information.
