Metabolomics Circle 2021

Metabolomics Circle is an annual conference organized under the patronage of the Polish Metabolomics Society. It offers its participants an excellent interdisciplinary platform for exchanging experiences between scientists who conduct metabolomics research. The last edition of the conference was co-organized by the Institute of Chemistry, the University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. The main intention of the organizers was to draw the audience's attention to the role of chemometrics in modern metabolomics research and the possible benefits it brings. Thanks to excellent speakers with recognized scientific authority, this goal was achieved. One hundred eighteen scientists from thirteen countries attended the conference. On the first day, participants were offered three thematic workshops discussing practical aspects of carrying out metabolomic studies. The following two days were filled with lecture and poster sessions. In total, 41 lectures were delivered, and 22 posters were presented. Results presented at the Metabolomics Circle 2021 conference are included in a special thematic collection of articles in the journal Metabolomics
