Sustainability in Agriculture & Food Systems – Innovation, Indicators & Implementation

On May 23-24, 2023, Re-Imagine Europa, a Brussels-based think tank, organised the Global Conference on Sustainability in Agriculture & Food Systems - Innovation, Indicators and Implementation together with partners ALLEA (European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities), European Food Forum, European Sustainable Agriculture through Genome Editing (EU-SAGE), and the Institute of Agroecology, supported by the conference’s main sponsor Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The conference’s main purpose was to bring together key stakeholders from around the world to analyse established sustainability concepts and innovative approaches in agriculture and food systems, and to identify indicators that can demonstrate the sustainability of a specific system or innovative application.

This collection brings together proceeding papers that focus on the key aspects discussed, such as sustainability in agriculture and international food systems, policy and ecological considerations of sustainability and genome editing in agriculture and food systems, as well as genome editing innovations and their wider socio-political context.

She is currently the Founder and Director of AcumenIST, an internationally active consultancy that drives the advancement of science- and technology-based innovations through proactive initiatives in the public and private sector. Before joining AcumenIST, Steffi worked for the OECD. She has a strong track record in the establishment, development and representation of technology-based companies.
